Impressive Dining Tables

Dining tables are the first impression dinner guests have of a host when they sit down to eat.  The appearance of your dining table gives a guest an overall sense of who you are and what kind of meal they are about to eat.  If they see scratches and dents on your table, they may sense that you get a lot of use out of it.  If, however, the table is wobbly, broken or severely damaged, they may sense that you haven’t been taking care of things.  If your dining table is dirty, they may wonder about the cleanliness of your kitchen.  These are just a few things that guests can pick up within minutes of sitting down.  Is your table giving your guests the right impressions?  Here are a few questions you can ask yourself to get a guest’s perspective on dining tables.  First, after spending the day away from home, go into your dining room and take a fresh look at your dining table.  Try to look at it as if you are walking into a stranger’s home and have never seen it before.  What do you think?  How does it fit in the space?  Do you like the style of it?  Is it clean or dirty, old or new?  Would you buy it in the condition it’s in?  Next, take a very close look at your dining table.  Make a mental note of any scratches, cracks, dents or broken parts.  How many were there?  Are any of them fixable?  If so, are they worth fixing?  If you feel less than positive after performing these evaluations, it might be time for a new dining table.
